Legend has it that when Eve was leaving the Garden of Eden she was holding a 4 Leaf Clover.

I know what the 4 leaf clover is supposed to represent the holy trinity (Father, Sun, and Holy Spirit), and the 4th clover is supposed to stand for God's Grace.

St. Patrick plucked a 3 leaf clover and explained (made up) the trinity comparison. But does anyone know why it's mentioned that Eve carried a 4th leaf clover out of the garden?

I believe this is in the old testament, but I don't know the page/verse off hand.

Anyone?

It's non biblical. Actually, it's completely false. Before banishing Adam and Eve from the garden, God made them clothing of animal skins. So they were in fact fully clothed when they left the garden.

I think because it was too windy and the tree only has four leaf, so she had to leave one for Adam.
