...pressing in bumpers? I also read that GM wanted to put in efficeint robots to replace workers, but the Union forced them to not fire anybody. Thus GM kept paying these people like 38 bucks an hour and benefits while they sat in a room, eventually they stopped showing up for work.
Something seems wrong here, how can someone who drops out of highschool get paid just as well doing mindless jobs, as someone who has invested time and money in getting a doctorate in engineering and actually doing something?
I remember when GM went bankrupt a lady who worked at an auto plant for GM and got paid 40 bucks an hour was angry they were trying to lower her pay to compete. She was complaining about it and I remember so guy called up and asked her "why do you deserve to be paid $40 an hour?" and she couldn't answer why.
