In my personal opinion.. classical music is more complex.
You're dealing with more than just a handful of instruments... you're dealing with entire symphonies.
Also, you're trying to convey everything thru just instrumental music, whereas in pop music (and many other genres) they use lyrics to spell out the meanings.
Finally, classical music is usually written by those who have studied music theory... so a lot of it has more complex rhythms and patterns.
Does this mean that intellectual/educated people would like classical music more than "the average guy"? I don't know. Actually, I was merely saying why I like classical music... and I think I'm pretty average.
