Kick-offs, field goals, and punting all have one thing in common: Kicking.
When you add up all the practice time compared to the handful of kicking opportunities in a game, there's ample opportunity to perfect it all.
If the kicker and punter could be combined it would free up a guy on the roster to allow for another running back or another linebacker.
In soccer, each player can kick righty, lefty, off the inside of their foot, the outside of their foot, their knees, their chest and their head.
