Hi all,
This is my first post. This may be a newbie question but, why can't I play downloaded midi files? I have a Nokia 3120 and I have tried to download midi files to use as ringtones, the phone says that it recived the ton but I get an error when I try to open it.
Thanks

samething happens with my phone. u just gotta convert the tone to type 0. hope it helps!

If you download Nokia PC suite from www.nokiagames.cjb.com it has a part on it where you can convert midi files into playable ringtones!

Newbie here...got a quick question. I'm also having trouble emailing ringtones to my Nokia 3120. Cingular is my service provider, and supposedly you can email files via internet or phone to phone. Therefore, I email the ringtone attached to a yahoo email to [email protected] and I receive the message on my phone, but without the attachment. This is the message I get:

One or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal.

The ringtone is a .mid file and is only 2KB in size. What am I doing wrong? Thx 4 ur tyme.

Download it via wap. Go on www.zedge.no and get an account. They will giv u an upload shack wiv which u can store ur MIDI file. :)

I'm not quite sure i'd think so. Its up 2 u; ur 1 probly is betta but im not sure. All i no is mine wks n its all online. Try urs out n c. It mite b ded gud!

Well, thanks for the tips ya'll, but unfortunately I can not download/upload files on my phone. This is what I found on Cingular's site:

Can I download files from the Internet to the Internet-enabled phones?
No, not at this time.

It took me a while to realise that I could download midi- files and certain wav- files to my 3650, but now I download all the time. :D
And instead of downloading pictures and pay for them, I resize whatever I want in IrfanView. GR8. I'm lovin' it. :D :D :D

I'm pretty lucky with my phone. My service has GPRS, thus I just have to type in the address of the midi I want and it see's it as a new ring tone. IF it's type 0 and IF it's small enough... *G*
