Why can't I download flash player?

Every time i try to download. It pops up for a second and then goes away. After that it says installation was failed or canceled. I have a regular windows computer. If I can download adobe reader and all the other adobe products/downloads why is it so imposs for me to download flash?
Please help bcuz i'm tired of not being able to do anything on the internet anymore.

And yes my ActiveX things on internet options are set to enable or prompt.
I just don't get it!
