Why Can't I Delete Photos From My Ipod Touch?

I recently got my Ipod Touch (software 3.1.3) and when i synced it from itunes, i got all the pics on my computer with it. so i try to delete them off my ipod but theres no trash can where the photos are and when i go into itunes, i don't even have an option for photos.......... Can someone tell me whats goin on and how i can fix it?
