Hi. I recently bought a fairly cheap $8 live bait trap (rectangular, collapsible netted ones, about 60cmx20cm with two holes on sides and berley pocket). I tried it the first time with white bread as berley, lowered it down 1 metre so (the depth where I fish is usually 3 metres), left it for 30 minutes and nothing. I realised the trap was moving a lot with current so second I tied 3 bean sinkers down and added more line till it reached the bottom. Still no bait fish.
What am I doing wrong? Any help? Do these work? I have seen it work on youtube, esp the homemade plastic bottle ones.
PS. I see people catch heaps of herring, prawns and mullet with cast net there, but too epensive for me.
