why can't guys stand it if their wives are more educated than them?

No clue. These guys sounds pretty ignorant to care whether their wife is more or less educated than them. Why do you value their opinion?

I've heard this many times and I've seen two examples of this in real life. So why is this?
I'm 20 and when the time comes this might be one of the deciding factors as to who I marry. Because two of my really close guy friends one married and the other now single always had problems with this issue. The married one just wanted a degree because his wife had one. He said it messed with his head knowing that she was more educated than him.
