Why can vegetarians eat fish?

True vegetarians cannot and DO NOT eat fish. If you searched Yahoo Answers before posting this question, you would see it's been asked over and over again (and yesterday).

Isn't fish meat? Which qualities does it have that "real" meat doesn't?

They arent true vegetarians, but fish is good for you; much better that pork and beef
