Pipe like tubing will be more effective to accumulations and bottom turbines pumping upwards would add speed to the flow. Also, if the structure is spinning, it probably would be more effective.

It can be very hard to make it turn while it is going down, but it helps a lot.
Option is to add lateral inflow pipes with neutralizing chemicals from the top to the bottom. This option is harder if it is spinning.
