Why Black shows swirls?

I have read in the past that vivid black does not have a clear coat. Does anyone know for sure if it does or does not? Seems wierd that it would not but that is what I read on the internet so it must be true.

I too am an artist and as an artist I fully understood your point. BUT... this is The HD Forum, not The Artist Forum. As I mentioned just try ordering an "every color added together" Harley - it's the very reason there is a color known as "black".

I am on my second black bike. I am sick of trying to keep it clean. I am debating having it painted a lighter color this winter.

The T.W. Black Color Magic did not work much for me. I have not used the T.W Back Box and I wonder if the Black Color Magic is the same as the Black Carauba Wax just in a different package? Does anyone know?

They all have a clear coat, even the denim colors or non colors for you artist. Denim clear coat has a satin finish or dull finish not glossy but its still a clear coat!

My first black bike in almost 50 years of riding. A few days ago I noticed the swirls.

This thread caught my eye.........thanks for the color/no color info.......(always trying to get "smarter").

I had some Zaino swirl remover, that my home theater forum had suggested, for the piano black speakers.

Went out to the garage and presto..........swirls almost gone. Will do a repeat tomorrow.

Thanks..........I would probably not thought of using it.

I have and IT WORKS!! I have some Glare for and did my bike with it after getting back from Sturgis this year. The first time I got it out in the sun I could see small swirls. The next day I re-did it with the Black Box and there was that clean, swirl-free finish I had been looking for. Not such a pain when the results are this dramatic.
