Why aren't people using jetpacks to travel and/or flying cars?, why aren't they

mass produced? I know jetpacks that can let someone fly are already invented. How come they aren't sold to the average consumer? How come people aren't using them to go to work and school etc? And how come flying cars aren't mass produced, they have already been created as well?

most jetpacks only last for 30 seconds of flight and the person buying it would have to know how to land it. or someone would have to make a new class to teach all about jetpacks 101
