Why aren't Jesus' own words more often discussed here?

How do you have any idea what his words were? The bible was written by men in the desert decades after he supposedly died and flew up to the clouds.

This unfortunately isn't a good forum to discuss anything because of all the haters.

To answer your question, I have been a Christian all my life, but sometimes Jesus' own words take more time to study than any others! The Beatitudes could be studied for months, I swear.

My favorite verse of Jesus words are: "Woman behold your son", and similarly "Son, behold your mother". It makes me choke up to see the way he was caring for her after his death. I saw the Pieta at the Vatican and found it so touching when I thought of that verse.

Good question sis, don't know really :)

In My Fathers house there are many dwelling places (homes) if it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

So powerful and so comforting :)

We would do well to discuss Jesus words direct from scripture, the Bible.

One of my many favorite verses is Luke 7:48, "Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

To be forgiven means that I believe Christ came down to this planet of sin, and knowing the penalty of sin, death, sacrificed His life as payment for our sins.

And in knowing this, it means that salvation, the free gift of eternal life, is really real and now I am a part of that and heaven is waiting for me!

When attacking Christianity the first rule is never actually address what Jesus the Christ, the Son of God said. While it is true that Christians follow after Jesus Christ which is why they are not called Mosesians.
Many atheists prefer to quote the Old Testament laws which Christians were never taught to keep.
In spite of the scripture where Moses and Elijah appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration and said Listen to HIM, referring to Jesus ,Christians are expected to offer defense for Jewish law.
My favorite is the scripture where Jesus says that all the law and the prophets can be summed up in Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all your heart , soul and might and your neighbor as yourself.
Loving God means that you refuse to be vindictive or hate filled when you are wronged because Jesus taught us to forgive. It means honoring God by spending time in prayer and meditation and that from this love we will have works that spill out onto others. The love of God provokes me to love others . The love test is the simplest test for all behavior. Is this loving or is this strife provoking ? I would hope it is loving .

"I am the good shepherd and I know my own and my own know me, even as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I lay down my life for the sheep; I have other sheep which are not of this fold, I must bring them also and they hear my voice and become one flock with one shepherd." -John 10:14-16

This is what I think. My favorite verse of Jesus words are: "Woman behold your son", and similarly "Son, behold your mother". It makes me choke up to see the way he was caring for her after his death. It is really amazing.
