Why arent fish considered...?

Why aren't fish considered meat? They have heads, you kill them to eat them. Soooo, why aren't they considered meat? (Im asking this because on Ash Wednesday your not supposed to eat meat so my mom made tuna fish macaroni thingy and i think it should be considered meat.) Well, your reason why its not considered meat, and if you think it should be or shouldn't be. Thanks!! =D
 
It's not considered meat because people need to eat something during Lent. I think it should be considered meat, but I'm not that religious anyway and eat what I want when I want. Let the overly religious types define their rules themselves.
 
Fish is meat when it's killed for food. Fish are animals. Fish do bleed red.

Not all fish meat is white. There are trout with pink meat/muscle. Salmon meat/muscle can range from white, pink, orange, and yes, even red (depending on the species).

There are other fishes that have brown, beige, yellow, or gray meat/muscle (they all bleed). If someone eats fish, they are eating animal meat.
 
Technically they are considered meat, however they are eaten on Ash Wednesday as a tribute to our Lord and Savior who fed the towns people with fish even though he knew his own death was imminent.

i have no idea why fish aren't considered meat. They are animals and we do eat their flesh...???
