It is about greed, power and control. The ones with this mentality do not see the destruction, and nor will they believe it. To quote Farly Mowat, "Men believe that which they wish to believe, and most of them prefer to believe that which gives solace to their consciences." And then, there is the separation of the people. Not enough getting together on the real important issues and making a stand. It is still "We The People" I believe and it is we who will have to save our world from the rich and so-called famous and powerful. It would help if we limit our purchasing to needs; don't pay to see overpaid people perform, etc., recycle, compost and do our part to save our planet.
Each of us must do our part. As Jean-Jaques Rousseau stated, "Let us leave to others the task of instructing mankind in their duty and confine ourselves to the discharge of our own." People make the rich man rich by buying when it is not necessary more out of want then need and that is just what they want you to do. I do not watch television, but I hear about the commercials people are bombarded with from all kinds of businesses. You are supposed to buy what you do not need so they can keep getting rich having to replenish their inventory. 75% to 90% of things sold in malls are really not a necessity.
This is all just my opinion and may not be of any help. I am afraid I have more questions then answers. God Bless!
