There's no "war on Christmas"; I don't use phrases from Fox News. But there is a spinelessness here in America where we can't even cherish our own culture in fear of "offending" people who don't celebrate Christmas, when they aren't offended anyway.
Look, 96% of Americans celebrate Christmas, and 20% of those people are not Christian (source below). It's not a strictly Christian holiday, and that's freaking obvious. It's a western cultural holiday with roots in pre-Christian paganism and Christianity. So what?
If you went to Israel during the Jewish high holy days, would you expect them to say "happy holidays" or whatever other phrase that avoids their main cultural/religious holiday to appease to you? Of course not, you'd think that's ridiculous. As they say, when in Rome....
I was watching a "Christmas" TV special of the Dr. Phil show the other day, and the only time in the entire program that the word "Christmas" was used was by a Muslim audience member that didn't celebrate Christmas but still said "Merry Christmas" to the audience.
WTF? I hate f____king political correctness.
