Why are we (humans) naturally weaker than many other primates?

Without spending your whole life body building, the average adult human will be much weaker than an average adult of the same sex, and often of the opposite sex, of orangutans, gorillas etc. Why? Is it because we don't need to be (evolutionarily speakeing) because of our brains or is it because we can't be?

Our evolution has allowed us to become inferior in body strength because our brains have adapted better to our environment. We make the tools, the weapons and the houses, the primates still live in the trees.
