Why are we Drilling for Oil so far out in the ocean?

I was watching this movie and they said we are running out of Oil in the USA thats why we are drilling so far out in the ocean in the Gulf. So are we Running out of Oil in the USA?

Should we start using BioFuel and get off Oil?

Our oil reserves are fine. But it's never a bad idea to start seriously looking for an alternative energy source that is reliable. The less we can depend on oil the better. Something home grown and clean.
