Why are we being conned on climate change?

Can someone enlighten me. In terms of global warming what on earth do the climate change stasi believe is the point of me turning off my lights and winding down my heating when China is building a coal fired power station every week?

I do not believe that global warming is man made because if it is there is one simple step that all govts could take and that is to insist that all new build buildings, domestic or business, are built with solar panels and grey water systems, but they don't and why not? Because if we all could save £100 a year through solar power then there would be reduced profits for the utility companies and reduced tax income for the govt.

It is all a ruse to keep us in line. What do you say?
 
Yup - it's all a scam.

For years and years environmentalists were ignored and ridiculed until some bright spark realised that the 'green' argument was a great way to implement extra taxes / charges 'for the greater good'

The climate is changing, that is undeniable - but changing because of human activity? No.

Let me know at what point in the last 4 billion years has the climate NOT been changing.
 
I think its really difficult because there are scientists on both sides of the argument, so who do you believe?

I totally agree with you, in that I don't honestly think for one minute that me being more "energy efficient" is going to save the planet.

I think its all about supply and demand, and when one day we realise we've used up all the natural resources, there'll suddenly be a HUGE demand for renewable energy and that'll drive down the price of that technology, making it more available.

If we've ruined the planet by then...........well, sh*t happens. I mean humans aren't going to last forever.........and nature always has a way of correcting itself.
 
This little bunnywabbit says that you have asked a question and then answered it with your opinion, therefore it is not a question but a statement of your opinion. This little bunnywabbit thinks that your opinion is very naive. You talk only of profit for utility companies. The potential profits from companies developing and supplying non carbon energy are light years ahead of the old carbon industries and therefore mean much more tax for govt. Governments are ;putting billions into developing new energies. That says your comments are based on a total lack of knowledge. Problem with china is they cannot afford to wait so they build coal fired power stations. That does not increase tax for governments in the rest of the world, does it? So what does your comment about china have to do with it?
 
Looks like you are opposed to being enlightened. The denailist are the cons. Most scientists are concerned.
