My husband and I are new in the military. We already hate it and will be leaving it once his contract is over. Since I came here I have noticed a lot of sad and angry people walking around. I was actually questioning why do many of these people continue extending their contrcat if they feel so miserable. But I finally came to a conclusion. Most of the military people don't have any where else to go after they have been serving a couple of years beacuse many don't even have a degree to make it outside the civilian world or they are afraid as many say here "of the economic problems they will ahve to face" since the military pays for everything. Correction: Not everything. They don't pay for your freedom since taht's the first thing they take away. The price one must pay for the goverment to pay the rent is loosing one's husband in deployment or wife since many die on war. The so call Chaplain is the first one with his long and depressing face walking around the bae not even adressing anybody unless he/she has a higher rank and so they are forced to salute. All I know is taht if the military was so great like many people say how come most people are civilian instead of military? Why are there so many children in the military dignose with ADHD? Most of these children are being medicated wrongly. They have a depression problem due to their parents being deployed among other things. The doctor on base was actually telling me to get the heck out of here as soon as possible and he is an officer. For those 10% of miliatry who do happen to have a degree the only reason they end up here is beacuse they really don't think they cvan make it out there in the real world. Being a civilian doctor is a challange.
