This is such an obvious thing to me that should be happening. I don't get it.
Such a place would only have positives, in my opinion:
- Alternative ingredients
- More people would be able to eat the food
- As health-conscious as society is now, it would fit many of the requirements
- It would open many people's minds to the fact that not eating meat doesn't mean eating grass
- Less contamination of the food, I think
- Kids would be encouraged to eat more fruits and vegetables, and try new things
- Prices would most likely be a bit lower (if done correctly, the prices SHOULD be lower)
- The food/service would be faster! Remove the meat, and meals don't take as long to prepare
For every meat-based dish out there, there's a vegetarian/vegan substitute that tastes just as good, often the same.
I know there are meatless sit-down restaurants, but why no drive-thru/fast food ones?
Why is it always assumed that vegetarians/vegans mainly eat salad, too? I'm a vegetarian, and I eat everything meat eaters eat. I just don't eat meat, and I use substitutes. But other than not eating meat, I eat everything; pasta, bread, soups, desserts, sandwiches, snacks, you name it. Sure, I like salad, but salads don't make up 90% of what I eat. I'm sure it's the same for many others like me. This is why a vegetarian/vegan fast-food restaurant would be a good idea. It would help to remove many of the misconceptions and stereotypes associated with not eating meat.
