Why are there cracks forming at the bottom of my ceramic mug?

I got this mug from an artistic coffee shop where you paint your own design on ceramic. They baked it and I came back for it a week later. At first, it was perfect. Then I drank coffee from it. I used it for tea the next day. On the third day though, I noticed long, thin lines forming inside the mug. They're not visible outside the mug, which I take as a good sign, but I'm worried those lines are actually the beginning of more severe cracks.

Can someone tell me why those lines appeared? I get the feeling it's caused by the high temperature liquid I put inside, but it's a mug... I can hardly use it for any other temperature. I would like to know if they're going to cause damage to the cup over time as well. I'm very proud of the design I made and I would hate to see that destroyed simply because I didn't know how to take care of it properly.

Thanks in advance!
