Why are the Mccanns friends unwilling to take part in a reconstruction of events?

Now surely they want to get to the truth of the matter, or are they afraid of arrest by the Portugese Police for false statements etc. Views please.
China is more than capable of dealing with this problem without outside help. And before you lot start tearing into me over that statement maybe you should read what Gen Xia gum Houmainxam says on the matter first.
