Why are so many conservatives extremely resentful of minorities and minority cultures? ?

There seems to be this mentality amongst some white conservatives that this country “belongs to them” and everyone who lives here ought to conform to their principles.

Do people who resent other cultures become conservative as a result or is it the initial mindset of a conservative that causes this mentality?
 
The most conservatives people you will find in this country are the minorities. You have to have conservative values like family structure in order to survive as a people. Now, those who call themselves conservative, you said "white" conservatives are a group within a group. It's the isolated mindset that makes them feel they are us against the world, or superior because they feel like no one else is like them. Really, if any group of people would step back from themselves (get over themselves) and recognize that all people are alike, they want food, shelter and a future for their children and that a peaceful coexistence is in order if you want to survive and you want your own descendants to have a peaceful future.
