Why are Republicans pols smarter and better educated than Democrat pols?

-Mark Begich (only member of the Senate without college degree)
-Harry Reid (Utah State, GWU)
-Nancy Pelosi (Trinity Washington)
-Rahm Emanuel (Ballerina School)
-Chris Dodd (Louisville, Providence College)

You forgot Failin Palin and pretzel choking, Shoe Man W. Bush of MAD magazine fame lol. That's just two of the nuts in the bunch lol. Show their college records lol.
 
I think you probably are skewing the question a bit in your favor as there are educated people on both sides.
But, I would like to point out something of crucial importance that most people overlook. What makes a great leader.
Here is my list and these qualities are not learned in books, so you could have a high school education and be a better leader than those with a doctorate. Read on....

1. honesty
2. ability to speak well
3. fair minded
4. not stubborn
5. not corrupt
6. ability to listen
7. ability to consider all sides
8. good old fashioned common sense, and boy could we use some of that in DC right now, we have about 3% of our elected officials with that, I'm afraid.
9. practicality

That is just off the top of my head. Truly, you could be a great leader without all that Ivy league education. Give me common sense any day.
Executive experience is crucial, I think. Of all the names you mentioned, I would say Mitt Romney is the most qualified to run the country. He can get things done, he sees both sides, he listens, he thinks, he's got proven executive experience and is a practical man.
