Why are Republicans fighting an end to "socialism" in health care?

Under the current system of health care, everyone who currently has insurance pays extra for those who don't, in the manner of increased premiums. When an uninsured person goes to the ER, they get the treatment they need, and our insurance companies charge us extra to cover it. The law that everyone gets treatment regardless of their ability to pay, makes the current system socialist.
Under "Obamacare"; everyone who CAN afford insurance, must; so they should pay for their own.
Yet, Republicans want to repeal that law, and continue to force us to pay for the treatment of the uninsured.
Is it that they can't see the "socialism" inherent in the corporations charging us more to pay for poor people? Or do they only see "socialism" when the government forces people to do something, as opposed to when private industry forces people to do the exact same thing?
I thought conservatives *wanted* people to pay for their own insurance? So why do they want to repeal a law that forces people to pay for their own?
All opinions welcomed.
