Why Are Political Issues Still Debated In The United States, That Are Mainstream In...

...Other Countries? Specifically, I am thinking about how some political issues - like support of socialized medicine, support of abortion rights, opposition to capital punishment, opposition to a two-party system, and support of same-sex equality - are taken as "mainstream" by parties of the left and the right in other countries, yet, in the United States, these are still "debatable" topics.

Now, I am a Canadian, but I am a Conservative, which means that I agree with Republican views in the United States. However, notwithstanding political viewpoints, why does the U.S. debate things that the rest of the world now takes for granted.

Because we're not ready to let go and let the USA get flushed down the toilet by stupid, lazy, selfish and corrupt politicians. And their pet lobbyists and groups who don't follow the Rule of Law or the Will of the People.

Because they need to do what every they can do distract us from the fraduant people ruining our country. They have now reach the point where they sent our national guardmen(the truely hard working citizens that joined it because of the medical coverage they get) over seas so they can not uprise against them either.

Because unlike most of Europe and the rest of the technological world, Americans are still stuck in the 19th century in regards to social, economic, and science subjects. They are stuck in the past this way because they do not value moving forward, and they see some value in staying in an era of cowboys, sheriffs, schoolmarms, and little red schoolhouses. In other words, they live in a dream world embedded with nostalgia for an era that has passed, and they don't want to move into the 21st century FOR ANY REASON!
