here there are NO BIKES LANES, etc..? Tonight, I ride my bicycle to the store, as always, and it's somewhat raining, so I need a little more curbside appreciation, and two cars railed their horns at me and one of them nearly stopped in front of me when they passed me blaring the horn and I said, literally, "F OFF" .. I didn't use the whole word, because that's my style ;) but really, as in so many cases, if I had a video camera on my shoulder, etc etc, but really.. what the hell... someone is riding a bicycle.. just because I'm not paying for gas, doesn't mean you have the right of way.. in fact, I'm in better shape than these lazy idiots driving.. are we ever going to cross over from being selfish, insecure idiots?
SERIOUSLY, why do people think they have the right of way because they're driving a few thousand pound piece... ah..

Time to get on a letter writing campaign to your city planners, the editors of your local paper, etc. Call on other bike riders and start asking for bike lanes en masse. If you get enough cyclists together your powers-that-be might finally listen.

At least through your local paper's editorials you can enlighten some rude people that bicycles share the road and have the same rights of the road (and responsiblities) as motorists!

And, while I don't bicycle, I do walk whenever the weather allows--it's a great feeling to leave the car behind. Good for you!

First I agree with you. Secondly biking on a bike is healthy. If your government is wise they put money in making bike lanes and ways!
Here in the Netherlands you can drive almost everywhere on a bike.
Even the people get money for biking to their job! So try to convince other people in your neighborhood and your work about the importance of this subject.
