Why are people so queer when it comes to "rate me" questions?

I know they always get deleted for whatever reason but people are queer about their answers depending on how good the picture actually looks.

If it's a hot guy/girl then they usually get " you're ugly" answers and the people calling them good looking get flooded with hate.

If it's an unattractive guy/gal then they get felt sorry for and get "you're so pretty".

Basically being honest on this site, giving them your honest opinion is frowned upon.
