why are people so against internet chat/dating!?

Because of what they hear in the news!! ive been with my b.f for nearly a year now.. i met him online... spoke to him for 3 month and met up...ive been with him ever since.. i now live with him.. as the 150mile traveling was a drag!! were both so happy!!! X
NO we are not ugly or hideous, i hope! which is why he met me (and because i and he have great personalitys and simular sense of humor!)... and why i met him.. and we get on extreamly well together!!
 
Well because that doesn't happen to most ppl. they usually get hurt or something along those lines. thats why im not allowed to have a myspace. i can c y tho.
 
do you no he is telling you the truth about the information he is giving you? i would no way trust a supposed guy i met on the internet girls get hurt, raped and all sorts because of this,
 
It's not just the news. I think people just have a hard time equating love and feelings with a computer and it's capabilities. Until the entire generation of people who believe the way to meet some one is at the park dies, there will be skepticism. You had a good thing happen, but people just get paranoid that it's unsafe, and that there are several things that a person is missing out on, not actually interacting. The whole point for you, is that you did actually meet up. It's true that there is nothing real about a relationship that is entirely sustained via internet. A couple can't marry, live together and have children on the computer or create an entire cyber universe without getting a raised eyebrow or two. But... to each their own.
 
People are against internet dating because the internet (could) is full of lies. People are just being really careful, because profile pictures and information could be faked, etc. the other person also might be some weird creeper that could possibly and potentially do harm to you.

i'm glad to hear that there is someone who has actually created a nice relationship over the internet.
