when ya go camping and everyone requires to be close to a bathroom, playground, yada yada. I feel like camping is going into the woods with just the Essentials and roughin it is camping. I know its a society thing but why are people afraid to leave the comfort of to days civilization and just get out and enjoy this planet
I mean i go camping in places with a wood box in a open field that u take a dump in, but before take a stick and knock out all the black widows

I think u got in wrong but i cant speak for everyone so in my case i just dont rlly enjoy "roughing it" not that im scared i wont have a bathroom. but strangely ennough i do still kinda enjoy camping:DD

Bears and Bugs and crap, people are just pansies sometimes. People don't want a mosquito bite on their butt when they use the bathroom. It's kinda've sad that some people don't even like to camp at all because of very few reasons.

OMG I SO agree!!

My husband and I are from polar opposite upbringings...he had to scrape to survive; I had a silver spoon in my mouth.

Now, We camp with our children CONSTANTLY. we have land only 5 minutes from our house, so if we run out of something, help is a stones throw away....NOT. If we run out of toilet paper, oak leaves are nice and big...they do a good job. the matches are wet? we make a fire using flint and steel or a battery and light bulb from a flashlight and steel wool. We have even made our own water and we cook from scratch. My kids [young, 10, 11, 12] pitch their own tents, gather wood, learn to mark trails when out in the woods. I feel more at home when camping than I do at home! I have such an appreciation for nature and in working hard, as I am usually a very lazy person :) I could care less about hairspray or makeup. If I get to wash every 2 days...that's a super deal! Love your post!

I know.

camping for me its bathing in a lake or river, taking a dump in the woods, hunting for food and so on.

I dont think I will have the guts to go camping, so I rather do the fake camping.
I love the outdoors but I dont have the ability and patience to go thru all the real camping process.

Insects. I hate them. Just yesterday I ran into this gigantic hornet, but it flew away thank god. As for the bathroom dilemma, I'm fine with pissing in the woods but I wouldn't feel too comfortable doing the other thing out there... Those 2 reasons are the main ones, atleast for me.
