Why are people in the military overwhelmingly in favour of the Republican party? I am not saying that EVERY SINGLE person in the military is a Republican, but most are.
I served in the Coast Guard for 5 years, as a biracial woman, and I am a Republican. My husband is in the Air Force, a black man, and a Republican. My husband is currently stationed at Andrews Air Force Base and nearly every person there, white, black, or anything in between is a Republican. My grandfather was in the Naval Academy with Senator John McCain, and he is a Republican and so is everyone in their class. M grandfather served in the Navy for 30 years and he said he only ever met 1 person who was openly a democrat.
My son, a marine, says the exact same thing.
Why though?
Most of the people who I have asked said they are Republicans because democrats are lax on national security issues and that they constantly feel like they are being demoralised by the democrats.
