I can see not liking the book or not reading it. But what is causing people to get their panties in a bunch?
It is popular, so it must have some merit if only by bringing enjoyment to many people. So why begrudge that?
What on earth makes people think that it is Misogynist? Bella is brave enough to run into danger to save her mom, so she isn't a wimp. She isn't a pushover since she decides to become a vampire against Edwards wishes, a very big decision, that she never backs down from. She isn't at all a typical hero. A typical female hero would have been horrified when Edward told her he was a vampire and would have whined. Usually girls in romantic novels strangely find reasons to hate the one they will end up with. So why the hate? I understand it isn't Vonnegut. But still....
