I think we need to reward companies that are doing the right thing and following regulations and guidelines.

I could care less about the financial impact of this to BP and it's shareholders. Let other companies that are responsible take over their rigs and market share.

They'll never ban offshore drilling in the Gulf, too many states rely on it.......let's face the facts, Americans want oil and no matter how many dead birds you have wash up on shore, the demand will never subside.
 
Yup, he's trying to provide incentives for it to catch on and spur investment which will bring prices down.

We are making progress. Regional High Speed rail is gaining traction, higher gas mileage standards are being implemented, Nuclear energy is back into discussions and various other programs are starting to show some promise.
 
Obama said he's been on it day one which is a lie, it took him nine days to realize there's a problem because he was too busy with wall-street reform. Media has been down playing its severity and not holding Obama to a higher standard too. And where are the environmentalists ?
 
I agree, but on the flipside....boycotting BP gas stations is going to hurt mom & pop more than BP.
 
Everyone else would though. Taxes are at the lowest they been since god knows when and Obama is labeled the Hugo Chavez of Taxes...if he took over BP people would go nuts.

What the fuck do you mean where are the environmentalists? You mean the ones down there trying to clean up birds.

the one thing they absolutely need to do is mobilize people, new graduates, the unemployed etc to clean up the beaches, pay them for their time and then bill it back to BP.

Otherwise what are the environmentalists supposed to do? Keep saying, "I fucking told you so."
 
Now that we have a black President, we no longer have black people getting upset and making a lot of noise. If Bush were in office right now, the blacks (and other liberal groups) would be all over the news calling for his head.
