Why are no politicians discussing the illegal immigration problem?

Haha, it never ceases to amaze me how ignorant Americans can be. You still don't know why? NAU. That's why Bush didn't kick them out. NAU. Look it up. Why would he kick them out when they'll all have passports in a few years anyways.
PS, the NAU is not a conspiracy as some people will tell you and it already has been signed for those of you who say it will never happen. It was signed in Waco, Texas in 2005. Bush, Canadian PM, Paul Martin and Mexican President, Vincente Fox all signed it. And it is reported on CNN frequently and yet somehow it's a conspiracy that no one knows about!!! Hahaha.
So anyway, it's because of the NAU (North American Union).

No one seems to care any longer. They are going to keep coming here on visas and overstaying their welcome. I don't think a fence will work either.

If and when the unemployment rate hits 11 or 12% the BS will begin again. Nothing will be done but the BS will flow.

Btw, yes, to the PC part BUT only if we do nothing to stop it.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

Sorry xenos - you live in America and that's how we roll...
We let people in...
If anything we need to work on the convenience, efficiency and perhaps customer service level of our immigration processes.

They really do not care about our needs is why. With 8 million legal Americans out of work right now you would think that removing illegal labor would at least help that number.
With the unemployment numbers so high, even legal immigration is unwise right now. Americans have enough competition for jobs right now. I do not see anything good coming from an amnesty or legal importation right now.

They are prospective voters that both parties would like to have. Sooner or later, the dem congress will find a way to buy their votes with entitlements.

During the election both sides kept mute on this issue

This is the indication that nothing will be done in the

near future.

The recession in the US is slowing down the immigrants as jobs

are becoming harder to get...even at slave wages

The message is: scrooge everyone from non-spanish-speaking, further-away nations.

We only want those sorts rejected by nearby nations.
