have to remove their shoes? I am a 28 year old male and will be reporting to begin army boot camp later this month. I received a handbook stating that all new recruits are subject to undergo a search of their person when arriving to the camp's reception center and that they will have to remove the shoes they came in and leave these in a large bin at the entrance. What type of search will they make me undergo and why do new recruits have to take off their shoes when they arrive? I have heard that they only issue uniforms and new shoes after several hours worth of exams and processing. So do we all have to walk around in our socks for this time and what will they do with the shoes we came in?
