Why are most women so easily manipulated by fashion and the media?

The younger they are, the worse they tend to be. Is it to with that most women like to be conforming, where as most men are only conforming when it suits them?
Gwendolly - um, I think that what men wore 200 years ago is slightly different to what we wear now. How many times this week did you see a man in steel armour? What about a wide brim hat, tights and a long pointed sword? Or maybe a brown sack cloth?

I think that you have a screw loose friend.
 
Men have worn the same basic fashion uniform(s) for over 200 years and you are accusing WHO of conforming? I know a great many men who would love some variety in their wardrobe and are outright attacked for variations as small as the color of their shirt or the fabric their pants are made out of.

I think you are in total denial, friend...

If women are so easily manipulated, then why does the fashion industry spend hundreds of millions every year on advertising? Why is the media focusing on particular demographics, particularly young females between 14-20 and young males between 14-20, to target their ads? Nothing easy about it, that is why it is such big business.
 
I think too many girls are convinced that the way they look is the ONLY IMPORTANT THING boys look for in a partner.

Now as for women, they think differently.
 
Awe a student, what high school maybe college, doing a paper of sort. Any way women fashion stuff is an old argument from the stone ages 1970's. You like looking at well dressed women don't you? Besides men don't care about women dress, heck they don't care about there own style of dress.
 
I only conform when it suits me, but I see what you are saying. I do think most women are easily manipulated by the fashion and media. It's fine to look fashionable every once in a while, but not to be a slave to it. I am not easily manipualted by the media... I don't give a crap what they say. I just live my life.

However, a lot of women don't really like me that much because they see I don't conform as much as them.

But even though the majority is like that, you will find some non-conforming ones, believe me.
 
In general, fashion is something that interests women. We like to look good.

ARe you complaining? would you rather we all walked round looking like sacks of s**t? I think not.
 
Most people are insecure and want attention thats why. I'm sure they'll be a few claiming they want to look good for themselves. But lol. Lets laugh about that.
