Why are many conservatives under the impression that high ratings for Fox News

Not Serious

means Fox News is better news? More people watch Monday Night Raw wrestling on the USA network than watch Meet the Press. Is Monday Night Raw therefore more enlightening or accurate than Meet the Press?

it obviously shows that people want the truth and not some smarmy liberal spewing his ideology on the public, we do have brains, therefore we watch what is more relevant and trustworthy.

I've never heard any conservative say that high ratings make one news channel better than another, but for the few decades that CNN was the leader in cable news I heard liberals scream that ratings made CNN superior. Now that Fox is the ratings leader, you liberals try to change your argument and you are making up lies projecting your fallacies onto conservatives.
As for your comparing fake wrestling to news, that only confirms that you can't tell the difference between entertainment and news.
Thanks for another laugh.

You are comparing apples and oranges. If you slice a orange right down the middle you get two halves, but if you slice a apple down the middle, you have to peel it first. and when you peel it you might take too much skin off of it. So, if Fox news is more believable than monday night raw, that is because you are watching the wrong channel. So, get yourself a satellite dish, sit back, and enjoy the show.

I don't watch Fox News, but feel the need to point out that your comparison is false because it does not compare programs of like content. People are not tuning into Raw to be informed or gather new information anymore than they are tuning into to Fox News to find out who the current World Wrestling Champion is. If you want to make an argument relating to ratings of news programming you must compare it to other news programming. Otherwise you are creating a straw man argument which lacks any substantive value whatsoever.

Meet the Press I beleive is CBS.

You comparing two differnt genre's of veiwership. There are those who would never watch news and those who would never watch pro-wrestling. They don't compete, they just cater to different tastes and really can't be compared against each other any more than a chick flick or horror film.

However, the FACT that Fox had the top ten rated cable news shows and beat out all the others, remains a fact. No matter how the libs like to pound "faux" news does not change the fact that FOX has something the others continually miss and bemoan.

Although, I wish Fox was more like it used to be. Even it's gotten more sensational than I like.

because fox news clearly has better ratings than every other news station. there has to be a reason for this... i wonder why.

based upon their answers to questions involving FalseNews, the answer is nearly all of them.

However, high ratings have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the program. I'm sure we all remember the "D" after Sanford's name and the "D" after Foley's name, along with many other gaffes that have been discussed recently. The ratings simply indicate many people watch FauxNews. It's possible that many, if not most, of those people are republicans who choose that station because it coincides with and buttresses their beliefs. Conversely, viewership of news programs by democrats may be split among several stations thus resulting in lower overall numbers.

First of all, the only reason Fox News has higher ratings is because it is the one and only network that caters to the right-wing audience. The rest of America has the choice of watching ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc. to get their news and information and therefore their ratings are less, because they share an audience. In other words, if it was just Fox and ABC available, the ratings for ABC would kick the livin' shi%$# out of Fox.
Secondly, the fact that Fox is the only major network that promotes the right-wing agenda should make you wonder the accuracy and the truth to what they spew. Think about it, can it be that all the other networks are wrong and only they are right? I say the fact that there are far more networks that are fundamentally opposite of Fox and that to this day more than 60% of America give Obama a favorable rating indicates that Fox is a lone maverick and only represents a minority of Americans.

I will be honest I tried to watch Keith Olbermann but the guy is so pathetic Hellen Keller could have been a better news reporter than that idiot.

So yes when you have news reporters like olbermann who would not know good journalism if it slept with his mom than yeah by default it makes Fox News better.
