Why are live-action movies based upon animated series so hated much...?

Hey I don't mind live action movies based on shows, if done right. I hate it when they do movies on my favorite series when they screw it up.

Man, have you seen the Flintstones car at the 2008 NY Auto Show? I want that thing.

I think it is mostly, as someone I think mentioned, the animation and artwork which really makes the cartoon special and that's what' the audience is used to so when they see the 'real life' thing, it spoils their fantasy of it. Also it's a bit like books being adapted to film, it's not always what you imagined it to look like which can spoil it. And again, some things just don't translate effectively from one medium to another.

I think that it is because that it is hard to get animated charecters accuratly with live action people. I liked Flinstones and Scooby Doo but that is because those were similar to the show.
