Why are Japanese dirt bikes so expensive?

I suppose if they want to sell them cheap, they must make them cheap, and to make them cheap,equals crappy bikes.
Does it really cost that much to make those excellent quality japanese bikes?
If you were to go and buy 1 in japan would there be a big price difference?
How much AUD (australian dollars) would it cost?
 
Because, like China, Japan is trying to expand their military(self-defense force). All companies in Asia are crooked.
