Why are hearing impaired people child abusers?

The hearing impaired feel that their children should also be impaired and hate the new technology that grants children the ability to hear (cochlear implants). Why would they abuse their child by forcing him/her to be hearing impaired? Shouldn't they want the best for their child?
 
Well, that's a HUGE generalization! What are you basing such a statement on? One or two cases should not be considered representative of an entire group of people. Come on!
