Why are groin kicks illegal in most combat sports?

It should be a legal strike, especially in MMA.

1. The weakest groin kick could bring the biggest men down in seconds. If they are wearing a cup, a strong enough direct kick could break it unless it is solid metal.
2. Infertility could occur due to intense damage.
