Why are conservatives scared that liberals will impose gun control laws?

First of all, firearms will never be illegal.

Second, the US Supreme Court has already shot down gun control laws. It will never happen.

Why are you so afraid?

If you are going to say that Obama is going to appoint a liberal in the US Supreme Court and screw up the balance that currently has 4-liberal, 4-Conservative, and 1-Moderate Justice. There are about 3 Justices that are either going to die or retire during Obama's administration. Those 3 are Liberal Justices.

What is Obama going to do? Appoint Liberal Justices to replace Liberal Justices? Of course.


What are firearm owners afraid of???
I own a Colt Defender Semi-Auto Pistol O7000D, 45 ACP, 3", Pebble Finish Rubber Wrap Around Grip, Brushed Stainless Steel Finish, 7 Rd.

No one is going to be taking that from me. I am not worried.
 
It's already happened in a few cities in the US, it's not an impossibility for the US to ban guns, or at least have very strict gun control laws. In the future, more people will move out of rural and suburban areas and move to urban areas. Gun control laws are the most strict in urban areas. It would only take a few laws in these urban areas to stop the vast majority of people from (legally) obtaining guns. People who say it's "unconstitutional" are being naive... so many parts of our Constitution have been violated already and were violated before in the past, in theory we were never following the Constitution. If you go into any public school you won't find curriculums teaching students about the 2nd amendment, you'll find curriculums teaching students that guns are dangerous, that guns are bad, that guns are violent, almost as if they have a mind of their own and are not objects with a person behind them. Children are the future, these children will grow up to be detached from American gun culture, and consequently they won't care one way or another if guns are outlawed or not. I'm 22 years old myself and most people my age could care less if guns are banned or not, many would support such a ban, even more would support stricter gun control. How old is your average NRA member? Think about that for a minute.
 
omg, I'm a "libreal" and I'm afraid. I REALLY hope Obama doesn't impose ANY gun laws, because they will never work. Look what happened when the US made drugs ilegal. With guns, it would only be worse
 
I know he most likely won't be able to ban them, that 500% tax increase on guns and ammo is what I am afraid of.
 
The supreme court did not shoot down gun control laws. There are numerous gun control laws in place in every state of the union. All of these laws were created by liberal Democrats. The only thing the Supreme Court shot down was the complete ban of guns in Washington. D.C. With Democrats in contol now restrictions on Gun ownership will only get tighter.
 
liberals live in the city so are more afraid of guns , because of gang bangers , drive bys, robberies , etc.

conservatives live in the country where everyone has guns for hunting, target shooting, etc.
 
We just do not like it. Why should our clearly stated right be tampered with? Plus, we are conservative; we are not the biggest on change... depending where in the party one stands of course.
 
Liberals like the Constitution and the rule of law....guns are OK, well oiled and under the bed
 
1. Because they said they would.
2. Because liberals think they'll be doing "good" if they get the guns off the streets. This is what liberals do -- they put big band-aids on surfaces rather than looking beneath the surface to find the root cause of a problem.
3. Liberals think EVERYONE lives in a big city and that guns are only used by everyone who owns one for violence against other people.
 
I agree with jdlech...the republicans have nothing to run on, so they use scare tactics to rally their base.

Typical Repub: "If you vote for a dem, they'll take your guns away!"
"If you vote for a Dem they'll never stop abortion!"
"If you vote for a Dem, the terrorists will win!'

It's sad to see what has become of the republican party. They used to be fairly good until the "neo-cons" took over the party.

Now they preach lies, distortions, half truths and fear. They certainly can't win elections by running on their record.
