I used to be in the army (4 years) and I have been out for almost 3 1/2 years, and considering going back in...the only thing that holds me back (and the reason I did not reenlist) was I have such an issue with sit-ups. (I used to only be able to do just enough to pass the fitness test or I was just shy by a few). They kill my back and I don't really think it is my lower back. It is across the middle of my back I can feel a sharp pain go horizontally as I go up and working through it requires more energy so I bum out faster, I can only do about 15 and that is my max...now, I start feeling it at about 8 and force myself to do the last 7. I need to be able to do I think 40...ugh.. I have done some research and know that the hip flexors are used and every exercise for the hip flexors I can do with no problems. Does anyone have any advice for me. Please Thank You. I'm a 28yo female.
