My husband's in the Army, and he's deployed to Iraq right now. Whether or not the war in Iraq is right or wrong is debatable, and it's people's personal opinions. But, seriously, the supporting the war in Iraq is different than supporting the military. I hear all the time "well they shouldn't have joined." Like these people are in control of it? They signed a contract to serve their country, and their country voted for Bush, and Bush put this war into action. Was it right or was it wrong? That's your opinion, but these people don't have a choice to go. If they don't go, they get reprimanded, thrown in jail, etc. They have to do what they contracted to do, and they do it proudly. They're just serving, and whether or not it's right or wrong, it's what this country wanted at the time. So why do people take it out on the military? Like they are just supposed to kick back their feet if they don't agree with the cause? Say, "no, sorry, I'm not going to war, I don't think it's a just war. Maybe next time." If people only served when they felt it was 100% right would anyone ever serve? No! I just get so sick of the anti-war people saying we shouldn't support the military, saying it's their fault for joining, equating supporting the military with supporting the war in Iraq. And what really makes me mad is that these people feel a need to get in a debate with me with this ON CHRISTMAS when they are totally ignorant of the facts and they choose to say idiotic things like "why are you defending him, he's probably effing some Iraqi who*re." Why are these anti-war people so ignorant and so hateful towards the military, going so far as to attack a military spouse on Christmas just because of their psychotic views of hating the military because of the war? Some of these people seriously seem to believe that service members simply could just decide not to go when they're deployed!!
