Hello. For the past 2 months I have been trying to debunk a FPS/choppiness issue I've been having with this computer.
The specs are as follows.
MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum (Motherboard)
Galaxy GeForce GTS 250 (512)
AMD Phenom X4 9600
Corsair XMS 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2 sticks, 4 gigs total)
ULTRA LS500 500W ATX
Windows 7
I first built this set-up with a cheap ASUS board. I got really choppy gameplay in most games this rig SHOULD be able to handle. I got a new board, thinking that the PCIe slot was bottle necking the 2.0 compatibility. The new board came, still having the same issue. Returned the GPU thinking there had to of been something wrong with it. Got a new one, still having the same problems. My drivers are all up to date, along with the Directx drivers. I have tried taking my older Nvidia 9500GT and sticking it in the rig as well. Getting the same issue. I tried switching out the RAM with 4 1 gig sticks from my old acer. Still getting the same problem.
A game that I currently am trying to play is Aion. I get average frames around 9-20. When I should be getting well over 30 at all times. Even when I turn the graphics to the lowest possible settings (on all games) I still receive the same choppyness. I even formatted yesterday, and again having the same problem. Any ideas on what could be casuing this?
