I don’t own one, but everything I’ve read about the 4 cylinder Camry shows it getting an average of 22-23 city and 27-28 highway. This is the real world average that I’ve seen on all of the gas tracking web sites such as fueleconomy.gov and so on. My question is why does Toyota claim a solid 30-31 MPG highway for the 4 cylinder model of the Camry when that’s obviously not the case as noted by actual owners?
Also, why is it so bad on gas especially to be a 4 banger? I realize that it is a bigger car with a 2.2 liter engine and not the tiny 1.8 offered in the Corolla, but shouldn’t the Camry still be seeing more along the lines of 32+ mpg on a regular basis?
