I filled my c/50 today;light went on at 140 mi.I rode it to 173 miles before filling; It took 3.75 gallons.I filled mine sitting up once;It leaked all over and I smelt gas for a week;not a good thing to do

When your light comes on, you are good for 50 miles.
When you are topping up, you have to slowly add the last bit.
I pulled into a station with the bike sputtering once, since then I stopped pushing the distance between fills.
So now I try to keep about 30 mile reserve.

:P

On the 08 C50, it's fuel injected and has a full blown gauge. When the light comes on you will need to watch for when it starts to blink. The manual says it has about a pint left.

Here is the Canadian version.
I have a 08 c50. when lights flashes on gauge I,m good for 30km,s then sputter. Total kilometers on that tank was 293km. By the way I sputtered into gas station and filled with 14.5 litres.

Annie - you are right. I can get mine so full that when I stand it up I get a leak.

Tex - are you filling at one of those pumps that has a ring bellows that has to be depressed before gas will come out?

I fill until the gas just begins to fill the neck.... I am going slow with the gas by this point.... and then I stop. I never have any kind of leak...but I can imagine if I filled it to the TOP of the neck it might do.

you mean you actually have to put the bike on the center stand to completely fill the tank?

isn't the filler cap on the side opposite of the side stand?

No center stand, some people sit on the bike while filling!!!!

:fight1:

Gas cap is located on side opposite the side stand.
To maximize filling you slowly fill it up by stopping the process till the gas level drops and then fill it a bit more.

there is a center stand available, though, isn't there?

I've gotten spoiled that way; it makes it easier to pull off the wheels to get the tires changed.
