Why am I handsome in person, but ugly in photos, etc?

It is quite a strange phenomenon. In person, I am a good looking guy. Without sounded conceited, when I look in the mirror, I like what I see. I work in sales and have had several women approach me and tell me I am "handsome". Except, when I look at photos of myself, I look hideous, like really freaking UGLY. The same applies when I see myself on webcam. I look so gross.

Does anyone else experience this? I'm curious as to what is the real me and what other people see me as. Do I look like the handsome fellow I see in the mirror, or the ugly dude in the photos?
 
Dude, i went thru the same feelings as yours but magically when i'm an adult i look fine in both. Your problem now is just dat u r a not a photogenic. So, u r the handsome fella who look in real. Best way to know it, post your image. We'll tell you the truth but don worry, beauty is important not for the face but for the heart bro.
 
yep, it happens to a lot of people. there may a camera that's not as fine tuned, inappropriate lighting etc. but there are also some features that do not photograph well and then there are some defects that make a photo look balanced (u should watch ANTM LOL). at least be grateful that u are one of those people who look better in person than in pictures than the other reverse situation LOL
 
Personally I think some people are more photogenic than others. A friend of mine looks fab on pictures and so does my gran! However, we are always more critical of ourselves on photos than we are of other people, so bear that in mind.

You are the person in REAL life not the one on the pics. x
 
I have this thing too .. in real i'm much more better looking and attractive .. i hate pictures .. their so weird
i even turn out colorless in pictures .. where is my pink cheeks!!

I know what you mean. I'm not perfectly good looking but I don't look as bad as I do in the photos. I assume it's because in pictures, they tend to capture you in the worst of angles. But when you see yourself in the mirror, with you moving and everything, people see you in all angles and maybe they see you in this angle where you really look handsome. Same applies to some photographers that can make some hideous person look extremely good in some angles. It's like someone might look good sideways but not front. Webcam, same same, it's the angle.
